Description Christmas is always the time for nostalgia, thinking back to times past to which the years have given a rosy hue. Here is the perfect compilation for Christmas reminiscences: all the favourite Yuletide songs of the first half of the last century, performed by the best-loved artists of the day. The stars range from Bing Crosby (of course), Frank Sinatra, Perry Como and Judy Garland to great voices such as Paul Robeson, John McCormack, Peter Dawson and Richard Tauber.
Over two and half hours of music covers a huge range of Christmas fare, from popular songs (Winter Wonderland, White Christmas . . .), carols sacred and secular, even jazz (Fats Waller, Bessie Smith, Jack Teagarden), to actor Bransby Williams A Charles Dickens Christmas, Max Millers The Christmas Dinner and King George Vs Christmas message to the Empire in 1932 - a veritable Christmas cornucopia! Original mono recordings from 1915-1949.
