Sweet William and Bad Bill
Description
Record: V+. Record has moderate visible wear, scuffs and scratches. Still plays loud and clear, with some background. The original incarnation of blackface comedy duo Moran and Mack was a partnership called Swor (John Swor) and Mack (Charles Sellers), until Swor left and was replaced by George Moran. With the success of Moran and Mack, John Swor reemerged in a new duo called Sweet William (William Le Maire) and Bad Bill (Swor). The The duo's name came from a popular song called "Big Bad Bill Is Sweet William Now," which had been a hit for label mate Margaret Young (Brunswick 2736), and was eventually covered by (hold on to your hat) Van Halen!
