- Description
- Prime copy of the iconic “James Alley” by Rabbit Brown, recorded in New Orleans during Victor’s first big field recording trip in winter 1927. The far less famous “I’m Not Jealous” is notable for containing a three-chorus guitar solo, very unusual (if not unique) for a primarily vocal record by a 1920s blues artist. Plays with no distortion with a 3.5-mil stylus, three pops on “James Alley” due to tiny surface defects, and a few very light rub spots, overall a beautiful copy. MP3 available on request. This record is from the personal collection of radio personality and music historian Barret “Dr. Demento” Hansen, who is starting to downsize portions of his collection.
