Description
"Moon Going Down" is the penultimate Patton recording for Paramount, May 1930, and is one of the three sides he recorded with Willie Brown on second guitar. Flip side is from the October 1929 sessions and includes Henry Sims on fiddle. This copy was unfortunately well-played and not well cared for. It has three cracks at the rim: one that's about 1.25" long and goes in at an angle, which has been repaired by Jim Cooprider, and two faint radial cracks, one about 5/8" and one less than 1/2". There's a few needle runs and several digs, all pass with no trouble, and the usual amount of scuffing and scratches one would expect for a Paramount in this condition. "Going to Move to Alabama" plays surprisingly well considering how it looks, using a 3.0-mil stylus. This record has never been sold on eBay and it's likely there are fewer than ten copies in existence. MP3 available on request. This record is from the personal collection of radio personality and music historian Barret “Dr. Demento” Hansen, who is starting to downsize portions of his collection. Mr Hansen acquired this record from the collection of his friend Bob "The Bear" Hite of Canned Heat in 1981 after Bob's passing.
