Description
Late 1950 New York recordings. Nice quiet surface, and a little peak distortion on the loud guitar notes on "Give Me Central 209" and vocal interjections on "New York Boogie." The latter side would be graded E-- or maybe E-V+ if VM provided that option, but this is still a great copy of the disc. MP3 available on request. This record is from the personal collection of radio personality and music historian Barret “Dr. Demento” Hansen, who is starting to downsize portions of his collection. Mr Hansen acquired this record from the collection of his friend Bob "The Bear" Hite of Canned Heat in 1981 after Bob's passing. Bob had acquired it from the collection of bandmate Al "Blind Owl" Wilson, who had started to collect blues 78s shortly before he died, and the sleeve has the details about the record written in Al's handwriting per Mr. Hansen.
