Erskine Tate's Vendome Orchestra

The Chicago Vendome Theater's pit band in 1926, this is Tate's only electric recording, featuring Louis Armstrong moonlighting from OKeh Records, and Teddy Weatherford showing how his piano playing influenced the young Earl Hines. This copy was properly cared for and shows almost no surface scuffing, but was carefully played a number of times. It plays without distortion but slightly higher hiss and some loss of detail in the upper frequencies. Very scarce in any condition and still a really nice copy! MP3 available on request.
