- Description
- Correll & Gosden pioneered syndication of radio shows with Amos & Andy, starting in 1928. They recorded a batch of shows at a time every few weeks and they were pressed up and sent out to stations to be aired on a specific date. This is the complete show for July 25th, 1929, recorded on June 26th, 1929 at Brunswick's studio in Chicago. In August 1929, Correll & Gosden signed with NBC to air a network show, and the syndication via discs ended. Only about 100 copies of each show was made, and the intent was for these to be played once on the air date, and then destroyed, so very few survive. Solid E condition with just a few light scratches. The left channel gets noisy toward the end, but this is almost certainly in the master.
