Description

Very scarce and one of the best Mississippi delta blues records from the 1920s, recorded in Memphis, August 1928. Charlie McCoy on mandolin on A side, and possibly second guitar on B side. With 3.5-mil stylus, "Brown Mamma" plays with minor distortion on some of the vocal peaks, no peak distortion on the flip side but there are several small 2-4g pits on that side which cause minor pops, and a few scratches that add to the moderate crackle due to grain. MP3 available on request. This record is from the personal collection of radio personality and music historian Barret “Dr. Demento” Hansen, who is starting to downsize portions of his collection.
