Gregor Skolnik was a highly regarded violinist in the early part of the 20th century.
"The effect of an unhappy marriage upon the sensibilities of a violinist is described in the complaint in Gregor Skolnik's separation suit against his wife, Mrs. Clara Skolnik, filed in the Supreme Court yesterday. Skolnik will be concertmeister of the Chicago Opera Company orchestra during the coming season. He was married at the age of 19 years, six years ago. His wife was 31 years old at that time." - New York Times, September 14, 1913
