Description
From Patton's fall 1929 sessions, this was one of his best sellers but almost always shows up shot. This copy is much less worn than usual, but unfortunately it has a crack to the label and an edge flake on Part 1 that affects the first 7 grooves of music, but passes with no trouble. The crack and edge flake were repaired by Jim Cooprider back in the 1970s. The crack causes thumps on both sides, but the thumps are much milder on Part 2 when the record is played in mono. There is a light curved heat crease on each side (but in different places on the record so it's not a latent crack), plus a few small dimples in the grooves on Part 1, one small 3-groove pit on Part 2, plus the usual scuffing and small scratches one would expect for a Paramount in this condition. MP3 available on request. This record is from the personal collection of radio personality and music historian Barret “Dr. Demento” Hansen, who is starting to downsize portions of his collection. Mr Hansen acquired this record from the collection of his friend Bob "The Bear" Hite of Canned Heat in 1981 after Bob's passing.
